Adrian Simcox Does Not Have a Horse

Sold to Penguin/Dial Books for Young Readers! (Publication date TBA). This is a book about empathy, specifically for class difference, and I am so thrilled it's going to be out in the world.

Happy, Indiana

From a tiny flash fiction titled "The Triangle of Contentment" sprang my literary novel, "Happy, Indiana." After many, many revisions, it's ready to go, and I'm currently seeking an agent for it. In this book, a woman seeks to save her job by traveling to a place she's been forbidden to go. She's there to study "happiness" but finds that idea especially elusive as her goals change. Soon, she's working to uncover a family mystery and to come to terms with her own racial identity, her mother's mental illness and a town whose claim to fame is not all that it appears.
